If you want to experience the true flavor of South Beach, Hotel Shelley is exactly what you're looking for. Popular with the younger set, this hotel is located at Ninth and Collins in Miami's South Beach area, one block from Lummus Park and the ocean beach. The Shelley draws a young, budget-minded crowd that appreciates the modest prices and complimentary amenities. The hotel offers a courtesy airport shuttle, complimentary Continental breakfast and evening cocktails, complimentary or VIP nightclub passes, concierge services, and complimentary newspapers. Hotel Shelley is the perfect choice if you want something very close to all the action and a fun atmosphere. This hotel is not about glamour (it's an older property) and attentive staffing. It is the crowd it brings in. Everyone, including the staff, is extremely friendly and the rooms are perfect for those who don't want to spend all day in them. If you're in South Beach, why in the world would you want to stay in your room anyway? The Hotel Shelly has a purple-and-white Art Deco façade and a small seating patio in front. The hotel has a casual ambience with comfortable chairs, small tables, e-mail station, and a TV lounge scattered about the Spanish-tiled lobby.
All 50 air-conditioned rooms offer CD players, premium TV channels, refrigerators, minibars, and marble bathrooms with showers, pedestal sinks, and hair dryers. The Hotel Shelley charges a daily resort fee that covers Continental breakfast in the lobby, evening cocktails at its companion hotel across the street (the Chesterfield), transportation to and from the Miami airport, incoming and outgoing faxes, and use of beach towels. Hotel Shelley's guests can avoid the crowds at Lummus Park public beach and get a glimpse of a more diverse side of Miami by heading south, to the beach area below Second Street. Topless bathing is permitted at the beach.
The South Beach Group shuttle picks up guests every odd hour from Miami International Airport and every even hour from the Chesterfield Hotel returning to the airport. The shuttle picks up guests at the top floor, departures, Terminal G, under sign for Hotel Shuttle. Due to new airport security regulations, the shuttle cannot sit at the hotel shuttle stop for a long period. While standing at the shuttle stop location please raise your hand so that the driver knows to stop for you. The vans are recognizable; a huge SOUTH BEACH GROUP logo is located on both sides.
