The Richmond is a classic art-deco hotel located in the heart of Miami Beach's Art Deco District. It is situated directly on the Atlantic, with a palm-lined swimming pool and spa between the hotel and the beach. The Richmond is probably the last of the local, family-owned hotels to still be operated by one of the original family. The Richmond remains a great example of the architecture of the period. The location is excellent - just three blocks from Lincoln Road with its bistros and abundant shops, which are open late.
The guest rooms are modest in size yet modern. Richmond has a small fitness center with free weights, a treadmill, and a stair-stepper. The hotel's outdoor pool is not heated, but furnished with umbrella-shaded tables, chairs, and loungers. There is also a heated, half-moon shaped spa pool, located past the pool. Just past that is a private walkway leading to the beach, where guests can rent loungers and cabanas. The hotel's rooftop has a terrace and a solarium. The onsite Verandah Restaurant offers dining and drinks on a terrace overlooking Collins Avenue.
