Just a five-minute drive from the almost-adjacent Miami International Airport, this modern hotel with a European feel overlooks Blue Lagoon. Downtown Miami is six miles east. The Sofitel Miami caters to corporate travelers, offering lots of business services along with a French restaurant and bakery, pool and fitness center, and international newspaper kiosk. The French owners of The Sofitel Miami place a premium on high-quality food in the restaurant and attached French bakery, which stocks fresh pastries, cookies, and breads. An electronic kiosk in the gift shop prints personal copies of almost any international newspaper in the world; the gift shop itself carries candles, soaps, and other merchandise. A fitness center with free weights and exercise machines and an on-site lighted tennis court is available. The Doral Golf Course, home to the famous Blue Monster, is just 10 minutes away and open to the public; transportation may be arranged through the concierge.
