The Marseilles is situated on Collins Avenue with the beach located right behind it. The hotel is only three blocks from the Miami Beach Convention Center, and the shops and restaurants on Lincoln Road. The famous European architect, Robert Swartburg, designed both the Marseilles and the Delano Hotels in 1948. The Marseilles has almost all the peculiarities of the Art Deco style - vertical emphasis and a combination of flat and curved walls, use of glass blocks, neon, cove and porthole ceiling lighting and cast iron railings. There is an abundance of nightlife, with fine dining and dancing at one of the local discos or jazz clubs, located within walking distance of the Marseilles Hotel. Guest can also frolic in the sun and warm seaside waters at the hotel's backdoor.
The guest rooms are newly redecorated in beautiful gold tones, and mahogany furniture. For your convenience, each room has remote control television and a bedside refrigerator. At the hotel's rear, a narrow sundeck fringed by gardens surrounds a 90-by-25-foot swimming pool. Beyond the pool, the hotel also features a deeper sundeck, and a palm-tree grove with hammocks. The hotel's facilities also include the Metropolis Lobby Lounge, and a sidewalk cafe - open for breakfast and lunch. There is also a poolside snack bar and cocktail bar. The hotel includes a small fitness center, though guests can receive discounts at the swanky fitness center in the nearby Delano Hotel.
