Two blocks from Lincoln Road and the Miami Beach Convention Center, this restored 1939 hotel towers over many of its neighbors and the stretch of sand known as Glitter Beach. The National's lobby is filled with Art Deco antiques, and the hotel has a fitness center, but the highlight here is the impressive, 205-foot-long pool that extends out to the ocean. The modern rooms contain DVD players, high-speed Internet access, and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, and the beds have custom-designed sheets. The views are of the city, pool, or ocean. This 13-story hotel was built in l939, and the lobby contains original period antiques and richly designed wood furnishings. The concierge desk is a precise replica of the original from l939.
Situated in the heart of South Beach, this hotel caters to an upscale crowd of leisure travelers. The National is home to one of the most photographed pools in the world: a 205-foot-long infinity pool that extends to the ocean and is surrounded by lush tropical foliage. A dedicated beach concierge provides chairs, towels, and drinks, and can arrange for massages and beauty treatments (surcharge). A fitness center includes free weights, a stationary bike, a treadmill, a stair machine, and a weight station. Complimentary yoga is offered three times a week. Getting in to South Beach's popular nightclubs such as Crobar and Delano's can be difficult. The concierge at the National can provide VIP access to many of the clubs in town. Arrangements must be made prior to 4 PM on the day of the planned visit.
