The Palms is a casually sophisticated beachfront hotel just north of South Beach and within walking distance of the Art Deco district. Miami Beach Convention Center is a half-mile away. Art Deco architecture blends with West Indies-style décor at this resort, which has business services as well as a lovely pool with beach access and swaying hammocks. The Palms offer guest rooms with British Colonial-style décor, dark woods, and plush bedding. All guest rooms contain CD players and cordless phones. Views are of the city, resort gardens, or ocean.
This oceanside resort, popular with vacationing families and business travelers, blends the relaxed sophistication of the Caribbean with the modern efficiency of a conference hotel. The lobby is decorated in the dark-wood furniture typical of a West Indies plantation, but the architecture is all Art Deco. Terracotta tile floors and cane chairs blend seamlessly with streamlined lighting fixtures, all leading to a reception area decorated with fresh orchids and bamboo. The Palm's beach features the only cove inlet along Miami Beach. Inside the small rock jetty the water is calmer and shallower than usual, allowing bathers to walk further into the ocean, and parents to relax as their children play by the shore.
